conditions. These dogs were very popular in the 70's. They are hard to train and because of their size are hard to handle.
Many of these dogs have been abandoned because of the expectations of the owner which are unrealistic. The long silky coat
must be groomed everyday. When necessary dry shampoo. Also this dog must be bathed every month. Afghan Hounds need open spaces
to run which they must be allowed to do. They must also have long walks daily. Males are 26-29 in. (66-74 kg.) and weigh 55-65
lb. (25-29 kg.) The average height for a female is 24-26 in. (61-66 cm.) and average weight is 45-55 lb. (20-25 kg.) Common
